Best radar detector reviews 2020: what are the top radar detectors?
What are the best radar detectors on the market today for beating speeding tickets?
Best Radar Detector Reviews 2020 Introduction
Despite COVID-19 and the subsequent lock-down of our economy, the radar detector manufacturers continue to continue to crank out, ever better radar detectors. Just in the first six months, drivers have been presented with two new appetizing radar detectors. The first out of the chute for 2020, is the brand-new completely redesigned Valentine 1 radar detector, now called the V1 Gen 2 (for generation two). And more recently, Escort pulled out all of the stops with their latest top-of-line radar detector called the Redline 360, claiming to be the best radar detector to ever grace a dashboard.

Radar detectors continue facing more difficult challenges on the road in 2019. The best radar detector used to be considered to be one that was the most sensitive and alerted to police radar from the farthest distance but this hasn’t been the case for some time now. The best radar detectors today offer plenty of radar detection and alerting range and selecting one solely on the basis of range and sensitivity to police radar is not something that I would recommend as there are other aspects of performance that matter equally much of which will be mentioned below.

UPDATE: Read our updated rankings for 2019.
Radar detectors have been around a long time, nearly 40 years, and for much of that time the best radar detector was considered to be one that was the most sensitive and alerted to police radar from the farthest distance. A lot has changed in both the best radar detectors and traffic enforcement industries and today as we approach Christmas of 2018, the RF landscape continues to deteriorate, becoming even more challenging for a radar detector to function well. Now more than ever, the best radar detectors have to successfully balance two opposing dynamics: filtering (signal rejection) and sensitivity.
Radenso SP Review/Preview
Radenso’s new entry-level radar detector offers great value for the money
Radenso, the innovative new radar detector manufacturer, has recently released their new Radenso SP.
The Radenso SP, is essentially a Radenso XP without built-in GPS capabilities. The SP retails for $249, which is $150 less than the GPS enabled XP, which retails for $399.
Even though the SP is now their entry level radar detector, it by no means offers entry-level performance.
Like the GPS-enabled Radenso XP, expect the SP to offer best-in-class K-band blind-spot-monitor filtering as well as traffic sensor rejection, Ka band segmentation, K narrow, frequency display and POP mode.

Is the Radenso Pro SE really the most sensitive windshield-mount radar detector yet?

It’s been nearly forty years since I have been driving with radar detectors and for the most of this time there have only been a handful of viable players in the U.S. and you’ve probably heard of all them. These manufacturers are Beltronics, Cobra, Escort, Valentine Research, and Whistler.
